I need to either rebuild or replace the 4L60E in my 71C20 (it has the 99 L31 350ci and auto). I have gotten local quotes of over a grand for just a stock rebuild with no TC or upgrade parts, so this look good......just wondering if anyone here has dealt with them....

Your link isn't working, but I would be carfull buying anything like that on ebay. If it fails and needs warrantee work, who covers it? Do you have to ship it back to the builder? and at who's cost? How much down time? I would use a local shop that is in your area. Keep in mind cheap rebuilds usualy equates to cheap components. JMHO WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I second Wes' comments on having it done locally. I had one rebuilt while on a road trip(transfer)from Illinois to WA state. Had it done at home in MO by the folks house while I was there on leave. Everything was fine til I got to WA state and it died. Well, to get any warranty work done, the tranny had to go back to MO. Needless to say, I had another local shop do it here. Jeff.

I certainly appreciate the fact that local would be better, but it seems to be a lot more $$$. This guy has some good feedback on E-Bay, and it seems to be a good deal as it includes the TC and a HP reman. I would have to pay more than that for a stock rebuild out here.....

That can't possibly be the going rate?

I had a 4L60E built 4 years ago and it cost me $1200 (out of the car is cheaper) and I got a Hughes converter. This ebay one sounds good, just pay with your credit card and you will have their protection on it as well. I bought one from a guy in FL (maddog's) off of ebay and it has worked well, I blew it up immediately the first time and had to wait a couple of days to get a new one, but it was not my daily driver so the time was no issue for me, but you should consider it. The price is DAMN good and I may buy one too. So buy it and let me know so I can buy one!! I have an LT1 with a 4L60E (tranny is smoked!) I was going to use the 700R4 to avoid the elictrical stuff when I put it in the 67, but a built 4L60E for a Grand is a great deal.

Right down the road in Seymour. Their house, my farm and timber are right there at a little spot in the road called Diggins. I went to Basic training the first time at Fort Leonard Wood. You stationed there?

Well,
I bought a tranny from Monster Motorsports out of Florida. They charged me $1100 for a heavy duty build (claims to hold 450lb-ft torque), with new HD torque converter and free shipping and a bottle of aerosol line flush.
It is still sitting on a pallet in the back of my truck, but so far my 'gut' feeling is good. It was well packaged, shipped when they said it would be.
I will provide some more info once it is installed....

You should be able to buy a GM rebuild for that money, with a waranty
