What would you do? Lowering rear
I want to lower my truck in the rear (either 4" or 5") with either a 4" spring plus a 1" block OR just a 5" spring. I was thinking if the 4" spring wasn't low enough I could always buy a 1" block to bring it down more. I run 275/60/15 on 8" rims. If you have pics of a 4" or 5" rear drop in my tire/rim combo, please post pics.

heres mine i just used stock coils out back and put in a 2 inch block those are 275/60 tires as well

Since you have a Chevy, your truck SHOULD have coils. Early Classic Enterprises has both 4 and 5-inch lowering springs. I have their 4-inch coils on my SWB. I would recommend using the spring ONLY and not adding a block. It's simply not necessary. Buy the right size spring and Git-R-Done!!
When you lower the rear, you will also have to modify your track bar, or buy an adjustable one. Lowering the truck, will cause the axle ass'y to move toward one side of the body, instead of remaining centered under the chassis. Also, lowering it the amount you want, will cause the angles at which the shocks are, to change. Either change ( 4 or 5-inches) will severely affect their operation. On the outside chance that your truck was equipped with the optional leaf springs, you have other options and everything I cited above is moot.

pissonNOS- it looks like your bolts are about 1" off the ground with those blocks!. I forgot about that clearance wise. Thanks for the pic. Nice truck.
ChevLoRay- My dads 70' is lowered with 4" springs in the back (no shock relocators) and it rides great. I can't remember his tire size with his 8" rally's. My tire is a little wider and shorter. If I go 5" I will buy the relocators for sure. Since his truck is lowered already maybe I should just put my 2 rims on his truck and see how it looks!. We both have 70' longbeds with coils.

they are pretty close to the ground but i am also parked on the grass in that pic so that doesnt help the perception, on the other hand i never have bottomed out with them yet

I just ordered the ECE rear lowering kit. I went with the 6 inch spring but you can get a 5 inch too came with shock relocaters and new panhard bar and everything was top notch well worth the money.

Here is mine dropped 3.5/5.5 front is with spindals & springs and rear is 4" springs and 1.5" blocks.. I run 275/60/15 on the rear with 255/60/15 fronts it sits perfect to me with this combo....

I did add the shock relocators. I have no complaints with the ride at all. I'm very happy with this set up ! Thanks for the compliments.
