WTB: Wide Factory Steel Wheels

Hello,

Lookin' for a set of the wide factory white steelies. They are going on a 4x4, so I need 6 lug. I believe they were 8.25" from the factory. 15's will work, or maybe 16's. I'm not completely sure what was available for the wider wheels for our years. Probably rare as hens teeth, but I thought I would see what was out there.

Re: WTB: Wide Factory Steel Wheels

Thanks for the reply Joe. I'm a little torn as to whether I want 15's or 16's. P.M. sent.

Re: WTB: Wide Factory Steel Wheels

16.5 x 8.25 was an option for 6 lug also. i've only had a couple sets in 20+ years of dealing with 67-72s. they might be more common in other parts of the country. the last set i had was from a 72 blazer and they were listed on the option list on the glovebox door.

Joe: I'll take the 15's that you have. I'd like to see some pics, if you happen to have some.

Any idea on shipping??

Nyncompute: Thanks very much for the pic.

Re: WTB: Wide Factory Steel Wheels

Here is as pic for you. The black one looks like it was never painted. The white ones have been painted several times and could use a blasting.

Re: WTB: Wide Factory Steel Wheels

I know they're not what you're looking for but here is a picture of a 16.5x8.25 8-lug. These were hard to find, took me two years to get four of them. I've got 12.5 wide tires on them so they're on the border of being too skinny.

If you take a 55 gallon barrel, cut it in half, put it up on blocks...put a fire or charcoal under it untill the water boils...stick the wheel or engine block in the water...while boiling...add 2 cans of crystal drano...leave overnight...bare steel wheel without blasting...and cooks a motor block down to bare cast iron... Will not work on alumn. unless you want them black... Just i tip...Erick
