Re: Rochester Carb and TH350

You will need to buy a kick down cable bracket. You can get them at autozone, checker, Summit is good and they are like $10-12. The Q-jet should have a hole on the throtle bracket just below where the throttle cable attaches to the carb, add the correct linkage bolt and you are on your way.

Re: Rochester Carb

Is it a Q-jet or a 4G? Might just leave the cable off for now, and just downshift with the shift lever. It may upshift a little early at full-throttle in Drive (mine did), but you can hold it in gear with the shifter also, if you wish. It won't hurt a T-350 to run it with the cable unhooked.

Re: Rochester Carb

Mine is still disconnected, after the P.O. replaced the intake and carburetor using an Edelbrock 1405 (manual choke). The TH400 wouldn't kick down at all. I had the tranny valve body modified for crisper shifting and the shop put in the smallest diameter modulator that would work with a TH400. It's black. So, now the tranny will kick down, but not like I would prefer that it do. Until I get my new kickdown installed, it'll have to do.....like it has for the past 4 years.
