L6 250, 3spd and 4spd tranny, headers, parts

Ok, make it two inline engines and tons of other stuff for $400/firm. Here's the list (I WILL NOT PART OUT!!):

(1) 3spd saginaw synchronized tranny
(1) 4spd tranny out of a '84ish ¾ton panel truck or van w/torque converter
(1) inline 6 250, cleaned up with all new parts, low miles, driven regularly
(1) inline 6 250 or 292 is dirty but came out of a daily driver, supposedly ran great
(3) 1bbls carbs, one is a few weeks old, one is a year old, one came out of DD
(2) stock intakes in good shape, not even surface rust
(2) stock exhausts (one is bolted to an intake above
(1) Tons of spare parts, bolts, gaskets, air filters, etc.

The inline 6 250 comes with all belts, pullys, power steering brackets and resevoir, HEI setup (works great), and has these new parts: harmonic balancer, starter and solenoid, water pump, thermostat, fuel pump. Alternator is in exceptional shape, only thing to consider replacing is the oil pump.

If you need a new drivetrain for your truck, this is a perfect deal for you. I have sold and bought parts from several other members, so buy with confidence.

I've got at least $1000 in all this alone, but I know how it goes I can take Paypal and I'll eat the 3% fee if you choose to pay this way. PICTURES CAN BE SEEN HERE:

http://satellitehead.com/uploads/drivetrain/

Other stuff:
Dynomax headers are sold to someone here in the community.

I have spare manifold gaskets (one paper, one metal). I have spare carb and riser gaskets and maybe a couple other gaskets I'll give away.

I have two air cleaners and a neck and I will give you a box of parts and brackets and bolts to go with all this.

To my knowledge, the engine and all of the parts are in great shape, but I'm selling "as is" with no warranty. I wrench with my friends and they've all seen and heard it run because they helped me install it and drive it afterwards

Hey Shifty, If the action is slow on here, you might try Inliners International.
www.inliners.org
There is a classified engines and parts for sale forum on there.
At three bucks a gallon I can't road trip to Atlanta from Arizona, even if I needed a Rochester Monojet and you had the last working one in the western hemisphere.

More info and pictures on the headers:

$75. Just used to break in the motor.

http://shifty.org/uploads/header02.jpg
http://shifty.org/uploads/header05.jpg
http://shifty.org/uploads/header06.jpg

Tight fit on an L6. Also, they hang low. see here:

Assembled on engine:
http://shifty.org/uploads/headers_linkage%20006.jpg

Note that I had to ballpeen them on the Cyl #1 tube to make them fit with the stock intake.

This shows how low they hang on a 250. On a 292, they're not so bad:

http://shifty.org/uploads/headers_linkage%20014.jpg

I'll throw in a half can of Eastwood headerpaint FREE; they need to be blasted and recoated because I didn't strip the original paint, just prepped them.

You pay shipping.

Okay, I added an engine and will throw in the headers for FREE if someone will buy this stuff at the price above!! Or, hell, negotiate with me. I need to get rid of it!

I shortened up the original post. Here's the stuff I cut out:

Rebuild 20k-30k miles ago, he pulled, crated and bagged it and sold it to me 12 months later. I flushed fluids, new seals, added various new parts and tossed it in my truck. fired up first time, ran like a champ. I put less than 2000 miles on it.

The entire clutch and its assembly are brand new ($160), new 1bbl Rochester carb with a newly blasted and repainted stock intake (exhaust was separated), new thermostat, new water pump, harmonic balancer, new fuel pump, new starter and solenoid, HEI ignition from a '74 Nova with brand new coil (needs new cap and coil cover), new wires. Basically, everything external to the engine is new.

The engine could probably use a freshen up (inside) and possibly a new head gasket. I ran the engine hot once, but the HEI overheated and died before I could even get the engine to the point of too hot. I checked the fluids when I drained them, there was no oil in the waterand vice versa. I would still consider freshening up the engine when you get it.

3spd Tranny info:
3spd synchronized Saginaw. I can provide two linkage bars for 3-on-tree if requested. I was told this came out of a '69, but I have not verified it. According to the PO, it was rebuilt when my truck was rebuilt (within past 24 months) and is in exceptional shape. I'll give you a brand new throwout bearing for free (less than 2k miles).

4spd tranny info:
Came out of an '84 ¾ ton van or panel truck, bought from a member on the forum, but I don't need it anymore b/c I have a 6spd. The shift lever has been cut off with a plasma torch. Comes with torque converter and most of the brackets.

Bellhousing info:
Take your pick - left-hand fork bellhousing with unused heavy duty fork ... or the right-hand fork bellhousing with the original hefty solid steel fork. L6 Z-bar and fork spring available on request.

There's also the Swap Meet section on the StoveBolt Page, and of course, the '67-72 parts for sale forum on this website.

Re: L6 250, 3spd and 4spd tranny, headers, parts

Price reduce, $450 for both engines and both trannies, all intakes manifolds and accessories. Tranny is not NV4500 it's an SM465 or something like that.

Someone take this off my hands!!

Re: L6 250, 3spd and 4spd tranny, headers, parts

I am interested in sm465 tranny and bellhousing. Actually what would it cost to get all that up to me. I don't know if I would need it for th shipping costs. I live in zip 63334. If shipping isn't outrageous. I will buy it.

You're looking at $150 for shipping only to ship via UPS. I might be able to get the price down to $100 if I went through a frieght line, but ... honestly, I doubt it's worth the money, honestly.

Re: L6 250, 3spd and 4spd tranny, headers, parts

Headers are sold - sorry for the really slow response.

Price reduced!!! $400 and you get lots of inline parts, two 250's, two trannies (one is in mint shape) and .... well, I could sell the power steering pumps and brackets for both, but I would toss them in. I just really need to get this stuff off my hands before it sits up too long!!!

Need to pick it up, though because I won't ship. I know that makes it tough, but it's sitting on a crate and ready to go!!

I'm looking for a Rochester 1 bbl for a 79 Nova I just bought. Actually I only need the high speed idle cam and linkage.

Not looking to part out. Sorry.

I really want to clear this out of the garage. Have had several bites on this, but nobody has followed up yet. Make an offer.

Re: L6 250, 3spd and 4spd tranny, headers, parts

I'll do $325 for both motors, the 4spd tranny with e-brake, all the intakes, new parts, spare clutch, power steering setups and I keep the 3spd tranny.

Someone surely must be interested?
