i know this has been discussed before...

what is the easiest way to remove the wood floor? remove bed and set on its end? grind out bolts? those things look rusty!

Re: disassembling wood bed

The easiest thing to do is to weld the carrige bolts to the bed strips and remove the nuts or snap them off. It sounds stoopid but it's the easiest way.

Re: disassembling wood bed

Impact Gun and tighten them untill they break. Loosening them will just be a pain in the neck.

Re: disassembling wood bed

The problem I had with trying to snap them off is that the carrige bolt will just strip the bed strip seats and simply spin.
I used a grinder, torch...you name it.
When you do weld up the bolt head to the strips it will have to be more than a tack.

Re: disassembling wood bed

When I did my bed the wood was so bad I could break it out by hand and then I took a bolt cutter to the bolts. Not sure how bad your bed is but you could cut down the middle of the boards and get the wood out, That would leave you a few more options.
