Santa Came Early

The local Salvation Army finally accepted my $400 bid for this donated '69 GMC 2500. It's a 292 with a three on the tree. Runs rough but I think with some new gas and dryer and a tune up it should run ok. The bed is in fantastic shape but not sure about the cab yet. I plan to get it cleaned up, running good, and have her for sale at tax return time.

Re: Santa Came Early

The running 292 is worth that alone.

By the way, 292's are addictive. Once you have one, you never want to have anything else.

Re: Santa Came Early

Great buy! Did that bed come with that wood on the side from GM? $400.00? Wow! A set of tires cost that much.

Re: Santa Came Early

Does it come with a Black Kettle in the bed? You may be able to stand in front of a store and make a few bucks. Who knows, you may recoup your total investment and end up getting the truck for free.............

Re: Santa Came Early

Heh. Well as of last night the wood trim is kindling. A couple of the plug wires were mixed so it runs better, still have some backfire issues. I forgot how much fun these I6's are to work on. So much room! Looks like I'll be able to swap some parts off this one with the flatbed.
