How Many 1 Ton Owners Out There?
I like them all, but I'm a big fan of '64 to '72 1 Ton Chev/GMC Trucks. Working on a '68 C-30. Have other 1 Ton restorable and parts trucks. What do y'all have?

I have a 72 1 ton Chev, original 402 BB, 133 inch wheel base, 14000 lbs MaxGVW option, factory ordered with detroit locker, 4 spd, converted to run on propane, Holmes 440 Wreckers and mechanical wheel lift. Could use a better cab, can't safety it the way it is, so its just used around the yard. Always looking for dually rear brake drums also that are within measurement specification tolerance.

I have a 72 GMC Ton , 400 sbc, 4 speed, truck was a hay truck on a horse farm . The frame rails for the flat bed is 10 or 11 feet long. This truck hauled straw, that a Kentucky derby winner, took a dump on. By the way, why ain't there a GMC smile?

i had an original owner/beater 67 1 ton graintruck and a 68 1 ton graintruck too, wish i had the 67 still, i sold it and the idiot blew up the engine and i believe it got scrapped locally about 4 months ago,,,,,
have pics of both somewhere.... someday ill have another, or a 2 ton, coulda got a super nice 2 ton grain truck for 1500 coupel years back, still could if i tried hard, grain trucks these years are all over the place here, most are real low miles and very nice shape cuz always parked in shed and never salt driven(out of season) i watched one roll over at golf course and literally burn down into a metal shell couple years back, too. got a pic of that also. poor truck.,,, |

I have a 68 one ton with a 292 in it. Trying to get it back together just to be able to drive so I can tear down the 70. The one ton is missing a cross member that the shocks bolt to. Also someone had shaved the gas tank hole on the cab so I'm going to have to get a new gas tank for the frame rails. Has a nice flatbed to it but I haven't looked at other trucks yet to figure out how to mount it. PO but discs on the front, said they were from a big van. Cab is OK but has good bit of bondo in the corners. They are solid, probably bad weld in job. Also got 2 other rearends with it, one has 17 in. rims. The rear under the truck has had shock mounts welded to it but they don't look right. The other 2 don't have any on them.

I have a 70 CST Custom Camper 30 , with 402 auto, no spin rear, 4.10 ratio, dual batteries, PS, PB, factory tach, original sliding glass window, toolbox in bed, I cant remember the whole option list off the top of my head, but it was special ordered and built in Freemont CA, delivered to a Washington Dealer? Marx Chevrolet, and still had the original brochure even, where the buyer circled all the option he wanted, as well as the protecto-plate, manual still in the bag, build sheets under the seat, and every imagineable piece of reciept/registrations, etc since 1970, including the program to the original owners daughters graduation from high school in 1971.
A neat truck, hard to find a better one.
