Locker for rear
Whats up all? Just got back and up and running from north carolina replanted again in Kansas. Just in time for snow. Any how I'm going to be putting the 65 in the shop and going through the whole truck starting with the body. I am wanting to get a locker for the rear thats cheap and was wondering if anyone has had experience with the powertrax lockers? It's not a daily driver just a crusier on weekends and the occasional trip to work. Also am looking for cheap body replacement panels that I can't find so any help wpuld be thankful. I hope I didn't break any rules in this post but if I did let me know. Thanks,
Troy

Re: Locker for rear
Lock-rite is a fine locker, good for up to 35" tires or so.

Re: Locker for rear
I had a Lock-Right in my Toyota rear 4wd. Installation was somewhat easy removing the spool and replacing the spider gears. It did click going around corners and if you gas in a turn will bark the inside tire. But it is a tru locker when accelerated forcing the dogs together. I think the Powertrax used to be Lock-Rite.

Re: Locker for rear
You should try to get in touch with Teeitup for your parts needs since you're close to him. Or you can subscribe and Post a WTB on the parts board.

Re: Locker for rear
most of what i've heard about the power-trax units is bad they fail early and often// detroit locker, auburn, moroso, eaton are all far superior units that have proven long life spans

Re: Locker for rear
Yea, I've bought some items from randy before. Actually the rear end in my truck now has a rear from a black gmc he had and I got a radiator from him also. I would like to have that blazer he has but no where to put it. I would like to find a posi rear to bolt in with a smaller gear.

Re: Locker for rear
The picture does the truck justice ALOT but I currently have a 69 gmc 12 bolt 6 lug coil rear with 3.73 rear gear. Combine that with a short tire and my highway manners are alittle on the pitchy side. But it runs good in town.
