Does anyone have an idea for a radiator overflow canister that will work good on our trucks. I have a 72 with air. any suggestions or pictures would be appreciated.

I don't know who makes it, but I am planning to use one of the street rod-style aluminum tanks that fit vertically, whereever you choose to mount it. It just looks good, and has a knurled screw-off top.

Has anybody had any problems with your trucks on hot days with A/C on and the radiator pushing water out the overflow onto the ground? I have been running the a/c constantly here recently and have had the problem a few times. I feel like I have to constantly check the water levels.

Let me get my flame suit on..... there....
I used an overflow tank from an Explorer. It comes married to a windsheld washer reservoir with a built in pump. Changed the wiper switch to activate the washer pump on the reservoir instead of the goofy-ass 4 pulse pump GM puts on their wiper motor .

I used a Jaz 1 Quart catch can. It is plastic ( in several different colors) with 1/4-20 brass inserts. I just took two pieces of 1/8x1/2 aluminum flat stock, bolted one end of these to the catch can, brought the other ends together, bolted these ends together through an existing hole in the battery box.

I used a Monty Carlo one and it works great right behind the battery, don't even have it tied down. You can see it on picture trail photo's are better yet I will post it.

I have an extra windshild washer bottle and bracket. I'll be mouning it under the battery tray so it doesn't clutter the engine compartment.
I'm thinking of putting the actualy windshil;d washer bottle under the other battery just to try to clean up the underhood.
Just tossin out ideas.

I have one of the streetrod style ones. Its a 24" long and 3" diameter stainless steel cylinder w/ a machined aluminumn screw top. It looks cool and for the most part works, but on some really hot days when Im driving it really hard the radiator will puke out more than the tank can hold. Doesnt really affect cooling but then when it cools down theres that much less coolant in the radiator. If you could find a streetrod style one w/ more volume, thatd be great but if not Id go for a OEM style plastic one. You could probably find a fairly cool looking one in a late model car of truck.

I found a good fit from an 82 Camaro. Its a big tank and the back is contoured close enough to fit on the inner fender of the truck with just 2 screws.

B4 we transhed our 84 t-bird my boy slavaged the overflow from it while I was a t work. He installed in on the fron driver side corner and it fit like it bleonged there. Ed ke6bnl

I have a 1 litre old plastic oil bottle with a hole cut in the lid for the pipe that the previous owner fitted, tucked away down behind the headlight, looks like crap but does the job and is pretty well hidden, will get around to replacing it one day. Jegs have a nice selection of aluminium cans or I may just visit a junkyard and find something.

The one I am using now is also from a G-body car like the picture above. I tried to screw it in, but it didn't match the contour of the inner fender and ended up breaking. Thanks for all the ideas!

A friend of mine uses a large Fosters Lager can attached to the radiator support with nylon ties and a overflow hose stuck through the can tab hole. Crude but effective.

I use an old windshield washer bottle and it fits in the corner of the fender behind the battery.

i need to get one so i can go to the track but i dont know where to put one. i wanna get either a summit/jaz one or a street rod (nicer looking) one but i dont know where to put it. post more pics
