Through the spark pluggs right? i have been told to use a coat hanger as the easiest way. But as to how, just stick it in and measure the depth? Dont eat me alive with this one! thanks

The only sure way that i know ,is to pull a head,& roll a piston to bottom center, then measure from the top of the piston to the top of the deck. then subtract .030-.035 for factory deck clearance.........69

Are you trying to figure what motor it is? If you have the displacement I'm sure someone here can rattle off all the specs on it. I belive a 327 is 3.25 and a 350 is 3.4 something, thats all I know

to tell the truth, the engine is a cad i know for sure, but the person who i got it from was not sure to what year or model he got it out of. the 472 and 500 have the same eternal dimensions and have been told the only difference is the stroke, so i am crossing my fingers hoping it is a 500, i couldnt find the block numbers so i am gonna try and atempt to do it the hard way, but i dont know how
