front shaft length?

were 3/4 ton front shafts longer than 1/2s i got a new one with my half ton went to put it on my 3/4 and it is shorter by a couple inches

Depends on your tranfer caseon which shaft you need. I cant remember which one is which but a 203 and a 205 have different shafts.

Shaft lengths are almost treading towards a personal question…

As mentioned above…it depends on your tcase…BUT..I would like to add that it also depends you’re your transmission.

On my 78 K10, I went from the original TH350/NP203 to a TH350/NP205 combo. That cost me lengthening the rear shaft and shortening the front as well as changing the front shaft all together to mate to the 205. Then when I went from the TH350/NP205 to a SM465 manual/NP205 combo back in 1999, I had to lengthen the rear and shorten the front…..If I rember right.

both my trucks are small block th350 and 205s but i never did look under the 1/2 ton to see if it was the right shaft for it either just know it is shorter than the 3/4 ton shaft that needs replaced due to worn splines

were all th350/205 shafts the same for all years length and u joint size and what are they worth new / used and rebuilt
