Smile From Tucson

Hey Busterwivell from Tucson right? Forgive if I make a mistake on your name, I was wondering if you ever go to the south west side of tucson, 12th n irvington area, and if you've ever seen a light blue 69 GMC Long bed with a bent front bumper? =) Just wondering... thought I was the only tucsonan here.

How many other Tucsonan/Arizonans here???

Transplanted to Tucson. Going to the University of Arizona!

Just the little blue '70 GMC short/fleet in my avatar there...of course, chances of seeing it are pretty slim, since it spends most of the week parked in the garage next to my dorm, and when I take it out, it's always been to head to Phoenix so far.

Travel that way a lot..........I live at Pima Mine Rd and Mission Road. I work on Fifth St, between Columbus and Swan. Usually drive my Monte Carlo SS or the Tahoe. My truck is white, 1 Ton Longhorn, with an orange tailgate. See you on the street!

I am originally from Tucson. I was born there but moved when I was seven. I used to live on North Tuttle and went to Walter Douglas Elementary up through part of 2nd grade. My dad was a police officer there from 1973-1981. Once these days I'll make it back there!

Home of the Speed Trap

Hi Guys,
I'm up here in Oro Valley. I have a '68 Orange shortbed stepside and a'71 Jimmy w/ White top, Maui Blue body. Got the '68 running again... it'd been down all summer -- right after a tankful of wallyworld's cheapest gas. [The harmonic balancer went bad].
Hey. If you want to say "Hi," flash your brights. We might start something.

Tucson endeared itself to me, from August of '69, until March of '71, while I was at DM. At the time, I really liked it there. For those who have never had the pleasure, the bottom line is this: either you love it, or you don't. The desert does that to you. I worked for a chain of conveniece stores, too, called Quik Mart. Had several in town: South 6th, 29th at Alvernon, out toward Sabino Canyon, over by Cholla High School (shadow of "A" Mountain; over in the foothills, too (north side of town). Man, I loved it out there.

Snowbirds still a problem????? You know the ones that make right turns from the inside lane, and left turns from the outside lanes???? Yeah, THOSE snowbirds.

I tried to rent a garage to store my '38 GMC in, so I could work on it, but there were non that didn't have someone living in them, if they were on the market to be rented. Guess it is just a well.

Love the desert!

My girlfriend is stationed out there, in the Air Force. I drive out there every other weekend in my Hugger orange 71 3/4 ton. It's a helluva drive with the 4.11 gears and no overdrive. But hey- that's half the fun!!!

YES snowbirds are still a problem, they should take driving ctests every year... IMO I've manage to avoid accidents with them except once when my lil old honda got slammed... But I'm sure if that hadn't happened, i wouldnt have gotten my beautiful gmc.
Blessing in disguise?

DM brought a lot of people to Tucson for their first time.

Snowbirds seem to come back each year with a bigger motorhome which allows them to drive worse. Now that there is a 50 cent a night county tax on rv slips, they like to camp out iin KMart and Walmart parking lots for weeks on end. After all, they are on fixed incomes!!!!!!!

Tucson guys (and gals), let's plan something far enough in advance everyone can make it.

Anyone done the Blazer tank swap? I"m trying it this weekend.
