finally got some pics of my truck
Here are some pictures of my truck finally. I have been asking a lot of questions and what not, and talking about the floor in my truck bed, so here you can finally see what I have in my garage. Sorry the pictures are not the greatest, I only had my palm pilot on me, and the digi cam was with the wife. The truck is a 77 with an 86 front cab and clip on it. The stepside bed is off a 74 I think, not original either. Has a 350, no lift, SM465 trans, and only gets driven about 4000 miles a year. My dad bought it for me 12 years ago ( he owns a body shop) and we restored it together and like a father son type project for me to have some wheels when I turned 16. It took about 2 1/2 years before we completed it, (9 years ago) and this is how it looks now. Up until a year ago, it sat outside all its life in all the weather, has been egged 5 or 6 times now by stupid kids in the town, and it still looks pretty good. I am soon to be removing the body and painting everything all over again, like a typical chevy the cab corners and rocker panels now need replaced, and I want to clean up the frame and re paint it, add the 4 inch lift finally that I had when we first built the truck, and install the new motor that I am currently working on building up. I will get some more pics of it outside in the daylight instead of stuck in the garage with the lights on. You can also see the new grill I just got from my buddy that I just put in last night.
If the pics don't work, you can find them here: http://community.webshots.com/user/tgh117

Very nice, very nice indeed. You and your father do excellent work. Be proud at it. Looks like you put in alot of hard work.
It is a 77, with a 86 cab and a 74 bed , so is it really a 77? Last edited by Nolowrider; 08-18-2005 at 01:22 PM. |

Thanks,
I try and keep it nice even when plowing, gets washed everytime after done plowing for the snow. I have always liked the stepside myself, don't think I could ever get rid of it, if I have to haul something, I just slap the trailer on the back and go. I will get more and better pictures over the weekend after the dust is washed off it. As far as the 77 goes, thats just what the title says, the only original parts left on the truck are the frame, the springs, and the front axle. Everything else has been replaced with something else when we re-did the truck. So far though, I have not had to change anything out since, but that will soon to change, starting with the motor. I just was talking to my dad about us getting into those cab corners, so that is on the plate for next weekend to work on that, we are going to do the cab now, and then fix up a few dings and scrathes on the bed after winter, then shoot the whole truck over next spring after the bed is done, then a new floor will come and the frame will get painted, and yippee my truck will look like it did 10 years ago again.

Re: finally got some pics of my truck
ok so you asked for better quality pictures, well I had these for a while now, but have not had enough time to get to sit at the computer and get them uploaded on here. I hope they work ok. I took them back in early september just after the fresh wash job. Lately I have been putting on the new shocks, steering stabalizer, and working on the replacement motor. Thanks for looking! I can't get the things resized down to the correct size, so I just stuck them on my webshots. Take a look here
http://community.webshots.com/user/tgh117 Thanks.
