factory bucket seat mounting?

does anyone have a picture of the floor of a factory bucket seat truck? I looked at a 77 silverado today, I was told that buckets didnt come until 78.. i was thinking if i got this truck that i could swap buckets to my truck and my bench to this truck.. for my wife to use. however... there are additional mounts welded to the floor of the cab, look factory.. painted the same as the rest of the floor of the cab.. were these tabs used on the bench seats in 77 as well? btw.. i have posted pics of this truck before but its a...

1977 silverado shortbed
crate 350, auto, 12 bolt rear...
TACH dash, sport mirros, and sport bumpers (non step)
with bench seat and console

said i could have it for $1300 cash..
it has the typical rust spots, but they all seem to be on the passenger side. front fender, cab corner and rear fender.. also needs a carb rebuilt. would be a good project but i need something for my wife to drive.. this wouldnt be bad.. runs good, just needs a bit of work..

Re: factory bucket seat mounting?

Buckets sound factory to me . The high back buckets came out in 78 I think . && and before had low back buckets . I think you should pass on this truck and let me know where it is . I would like to have one that has those options from the factory . BTW what color is it ? Just wondering . Frank

those tabs your talking about are for the front of the buckets where they mount to the cab....there's a few spot welds, and they do kinda look cheesy dont they?.. .there factory though

Re: factory bucket seat mounting?

In the foreground are the bucket-seat brackets, along with a small piece of floor. These mounts are absent on bench-seat trucks.

Re: factory bucket seat mounting?

I think you wasted you money buying that truck. Looks like you made a bad deal to me. I am a really nice guy and I will just take it off of your hands for what you paid for it. Really, you made a great buy there. I will be putting some buckets in my '86. Mine are low backs and I do have the two bracketes that need to be welded to the floor. Show us pictures as you do the change. It will be some time before I put mine in. Nice looking truck.

Re: factory bucket seat mounting?

the only thing i'm not crazy about with the factory buckets, is the pass side doesnt recline back at all...or adjust/slide back...once it's in there, its in there

Install a driver's side seat track/slider to the passenger side seat and you have just cured the "fixed seat" problem. The adjusting lever will be on the inside of the seat (between the console and the seat) instead of the outside of the seat but you can change that with a little fab work if it bothers you. I have this setup in my '84 C10 (without the fab work) and it works great.

There's no room behind the seat to recline back so that option would be useless unless you're under 5' tall and have to slide the seat all the way forward.

The factory regular cab bucket seat brackets are out there if you keep your eyes open. I just bought a nice complete driver's side seat track/slider on ebay for $31.00.

yep those are the ones, might be worth it to check the VIN on the truck.. bet its a 78.. or show that buckets were available in 77..

Do those brackets go on the inside by the console? (front?)
