I don't want to do a crossmember swap and the truck has 3" drop tubular control arms so I want to keep them if I can.
Has anybody actually installed these ball joints in a 67-70??

I have, both upper and lower, piece of cake...
Not sure about the tubular control arms but they will work with the oem's.

Watch the turning radius with the earlier lower control arm, the disc spindle will hit earlier than the drum. Also, if you use a 73 up spindle the tierod end is different...

Is it just the tie rod end that is different? If you go with 73+ components do you need the center link, idler, pitman etc??

Thanks. That was my next question.
I know you can buy a conversion adjusting sleeve from CPP to use the 73+ outer tierod and still keep the 67-70 steering components. I think its about $25. I think this is the route I'm going to go.

Guys, I used the centerlink, etc from a '72 with a '73 tierod end (so I could use '73 up drop spindles). Deuce is right about the CPP sleeve, I used a similiar one on a '64 chevy once and it worked well.

There's about a 100 different ways to do this, so have fun... I think you'll have to address the brake lines too, I'm thinking I had to change some stuff around on those...

If I remember it disc brake lines are routed different and require a bracket welded on to support the brake lines??

I used the 71~72 center-link on my 67 (w/73 & up BJ.s) & I used a 73 & up center-link on my 68 (again w/73 & up BJ's).

Both trucks used the same non-power pitman arm & idler which is the same P/N for a 73~78.

Deuce, they are routed differently, but the fittings are also different.
