One of each as well :
68 weekend warrior / drag truck
70 runner / parked / waiting .
72 completely apart / awaiting major mods .
The 68 is in my shop getting new intake , msd , headers , and all power steering / alt brackets down at the powder coaters , hoping to also add cowl hood , if the funds hold out .

Re: What is your truck used for?

I could put tags on mine and drive it but now it is time to start the restoration process. I'm gathering all my parts and cleaning out the garage. my daily driver is a 05 silverado LS ex-cab 5.3 tow package. My wife drives a 97 Thunderbird limited addition 4.6. She loves that car.

Re: What is your truck used for?

Well my GMC used to just sit and I would only drive it once in a while and use it for going camping and dirtbike riding if I needed a bigger bed than on my Ranger. I just sold my Ranger to make room for my 70 K5 that I am going to build and use as my daily driver so until the K5 is ready I will be using my GMC as a daily driver if I can keep gas in it lol.

Re: What is your truck used for?

I have a 2004 2500HD and I beat this truck to death. I was pulling some fence posts that were cemented to China. I had all four wheels smoking and bouncing on ashfault. I should have sold tickets. But when it comes to my old trucks they set in the garage and only come out on sunny days and here in Portland they are far and few between. In fact I am thinking about incorporating some pontunes into my next truck. There is a lot of flooding around here. I guess all in all I know that my 2004 will only drop in value and my old trucks will gain so I treat them accordingly.

Re: What is your truck used for?

My 67 is used for hauling, mostly @ss, the others are lined up waiting for their respective motors to be put together and put in. I just purchased another 72 Blazer, finally one with no rust except rockers, so this one will stay and act as transport and hunting rig. 05 Yukon XL is the normal mode of transpo for the 3 kids and wife and I. I have a plan for a 67 burb on a 96 3/4 ton IFS 4X4 Frame, but I am not getting younger and the kids are like weeds, so If I live to retirement I have a to do list as long as both arms!!

Re: What is your truck used for?

Well it was tagged in the '90's anyway. I have 2 that qualify for #7 and 1 for #8. Mine's pretty much a lawn ornament. The kids are getting to the age that they can "help work on it" now though. Maybe the next few years will be more productive.

Re: What is your truck used for?

Gets me to work everyday. With fuel costs being what they are and local traffic being what it is, It will get me to the bus stop. I estimate I'll save about $1,300.00 a year that way. More than enough to get me up to the lake a few more times!

Re: What is your truck used for?

The 1971 GMC 1 ton dually is the "Farm" truck, if it's heavy or just big and needs hauling this is the one that does it.

The 1970 C-10 (80,000 original miles) is the every day driver the wife takes to work and we use for shopping, church etc.

Re: What is your truck used for?

The GMC has been Garage Art for 5 1/2 years now, with all of it's 50,102 parts boxed or hung on the walls in various states of repair. Got tags and insurance on her though just in case she magically reassembles itself.

Re: What is your truck used for?

I have a company car for work until May. Then it will be my '86 S-10 for DD as I figure out retirement life. The GMC is my weekend beater for now wheck is good cuss no one else in the family wants to ride in it. The Chevy 2WD has been in jail since 90 when I started courtin' my wife. But after the big move to the retirement home I'll start working on it's bail.

Re: What is your truck used for?

I use mine for whatever I need to.Just recently I hauled three loads of firewood, took the trash to the dump, drove her to work. When I wash my T/A and it rains the next day, I drive the truck, seeing as how it's in need of some serious paint and bodywork.
I still enjoy driving it though, sometimes more than my d.d.

Except when i'm riding the bike, which with the price of gas, i think the bike is getting as many miles as the truck these days...
