2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

Since there are so many looking for 2wds and Jimmys are a rare breed...

$14,500 seems a little on the high side from what I can tell in those pictures.

Re: 2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

I believe that was listed before for $12,000 with the 20's and $10,000 without, and it looks a whole lot nicer than the red one I found in bremerton for 10k-12k(guy couldn't decide on the price)....

Hum, that is an interesting point. I'd be interested in how that works? If we can't post interesting finds, there would be a lot of people on the board who might not have the trucks they have right now?

Re: 2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

ok..yall want an answer... come up with one.

Problem: You created this website. You own this board. You have to pay an ungodly amount each month for a server to keep it running. Theres no way in heck you can afford it on your own. Do you have commercial advertisements? Ads were put on the board at one time. The advertisements they stuck here caused people to rise up and complain. They didnt want them. Gotta keep your board members happy.. so you take them off. How to pay for the server now.. hmm..

This is your board.. you own it. People have been making money off of you for years selling parts. You havent seen a penny from it. You continue to struggle to make the server payments to keep going.
The site continues to grow by leaps and bounds because Its THE BEST internet site for information about your truck passion. It grows so big the server your struggling to pay for has to be replaced. Its going to cost you TWICE as much as the old one did.. but without it.. you cant keep it going in an orderly manner. It will not run properly. It crashes often. People complain. If you dont keep it running.. people will leave and it will fail.

Some people contribute.. just a small percentage of people who use the board everyday help out to keep it running. Most people do not. Some people get mad when asked to contribute. "I need beer money" they say.

You come up with a plan to let people have a few extra "goodies" for a small contribution. You charge to let them buy and sell parts and make money. Money youve never seen any of until now. Money that goes to keep the site running.

People constantly try to get around the rules so they dont have to pay the small amount to advertise. They get inventive in order to do so. They dont want to pay for a right to sell parts for a full year with advertisements that would cost them QUITE a BIT MORE to advertise in a LOCAL AREA newspaper.

So...Its YOUR site, You have to pay to keep it running. How do YOU do it?

Re: 2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

I'm going to have to agree with bouncy on this one, $14,500 is too high for what is pictured and described. Unless the "Custom" rims that are in one picture (that you can hardly see) are worth 6k then it might be an ok deal (good deal if it had factory AC). If anyone finds out more information about it post it here.

As for the other discussion issues...

I would hate to see posts like this banned since they helped me out immensely before I purchased my Blazer and are the posts that I feel I can help other members with the most.

Luv summed up (better then I could) what I was thinking in regards to Bill's post, so I'm just going to leave it alone.

Explained Perfectly, I fully understand, just a thought, is this in the rules?
Does it need to be? It may clear up other things, again it's just a thought

every time I see a new post on this thread I am disapointed. Does anyone have anything to say about the Blazer? This thread was highjacked from the start.

Definetly worth the $14,500. If your pockets are bottomless this is a small price for an American Classic Muscle Car.

Re: 2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

It does look pretty nice, but if I can say this without offending my fellow canucks, I wouldn't touch anything from Ontario. I have seen 3 year old cars from there, that are rusted from the inside out. It obviously has been restored and for anyone that has dealt with serious rust, you know the only way to get it all it to ready strip the body. Otherwise it will reappear somewere else shortly. Just my opinion, but I would be leary of that one.

There is always shipping. If LUV can ship his rig from Cali to his house, you can ship that to Cali.

Yeppers that's true, but $1600 (Enclosed, open is cheaper) really hurt

Thanks again bouncy, I needed that!! I'm sort of glad that one close is so far from that condition. I might be sleeping in it and wondering how I would tell the wife about the new loan.

I do not think the price of a decent restored or unmolested Blazer is out of reach for 14000 thousand. If you do not have to do much, mostly paint and body than you are okay. If is much easier to go and buy a crate motor for a few thousand and drop it in yourself or put in a transmission yourself, but bodywork is definitely not for the amateur. Alot of guys never get what they paid for. If you can jump in and drive it, pay for it now and not later.

Re: 2wd jimmy outside Eugene, OR

Vehicle shipping prices have gone way up. I priced one shipped that was 700 miles from me, open trailer, $996. Also, remember that if you ship open trailer, even with Fed Ex, the hauling is done by an outside company, not the people you paid your money to; which, in the case of a claim, makes things a little more complicated. I found that out with Fed Ex. They will only ship the vehicle on their truck if you paid for enclosed service. BTW, the enclosed price I got quoted was $1695.
