Re: need help engine doesnt fit
You need to use the mounting holes that are farther forward than the ones you're using now. I can't tell you if you need BB or SB mounts (if there's a diff'ce...I swapped to LS1).
I don't know if the crossmember from a 80 GMC is the same as the '68 so I dunno if you're going to have problems when it comes to bolting it up. I would get towers and mounts particular to your application.

Re: need help engine doesnt fit
There are alot of people who mount the SBC in the 250 (I6) position. You have to use use 67-72 chevy truck mounts. From what I understand, it is easily done w/o any extra holes being drilled, it just moves the engine fairly close to the firewall. Really close if you are using an HEI distributor, but still easily done. Not sure if you need the I6 or SBC stands...

To mount it in the 6 position, you use 6 cylinder stands. The eights won't line up. It should work, but be very close. Depending on the type valve covers you have (real tall), that may be some of the cause. I am not sure if you can use the stock bell housing mounts. I'm told those are different between 6 and 8s.

Re: need help engine doesnt fit
Call ECE. I just sent a bunch of crossmembers down to them... One of them was for a 350 bell-housing mount... Talk to Terry.
