You want the rubber inside of the doors. The rest of the rubber has a groove on it that fits snug against the door frame.

Re: 72 vent window installation questions?????

If you don't tuck your gasket into the door, the rubber won't fit in the frame in the front of the door. The little sideways "V" that's in the front of the vent won't seat correctly. I just installed my vents this past week. I've attached a pic of the outside. Basically, the outside and inside should look the same.

Re: 72 vent window installation questions?????

I'll be darned. I put a set on a couple weeks ago and didn't tuck it. Looked like crap, too. Thanks for asking and clearing up my problem!

Re: 72 vent window installation questions?????

Thanks for all the help guys.....And complements..
The truck started out as a 72 long box from Texas...I cut box in front and behind rearwells and put body on a 72 blazer frame...I than wanted it a little more HD, so I shortened a 81 3/4 4X4 chevy frame and put body on that..I had to fabricate every cab mount....She has a 6" front and 4" rear spring lift..(no blocks)...That is the springs I had to use to make her level..I dont know why...She has a new mild 350(cam,intake,headers,hei) TH700R4, 373 gears,37" goodyear militery ozs...I sand blasted and painted every inch of her, inside, outside(media),and underbody...The only piece on non original body is the Goodmark cowel hood..I painted her myself in my 2 car garage/home booth with Dupont Chroma One SSU.. I have been working on her on and off for the last 5 years
Thanks again...
Mark
PS, I have to put half flat 31" tires on to clear garage door
