67 Tranny
I am looking at buying a 67 Longbed V8 with an auto tranny. Does anyone know what kind of tranny they had stock that year. The guy that has it told me the entire truck is stock so I know its either a 327 or 283 with a powerglide trans or a TH350? Help Please. I would crawl under it but I would sink in the same mud its sunk in.

1st look at the steering column...the p/g has D 1 only..
The th350 has D 2 1 on it...and look at the options on the glovebox label...that will tell you what motor and stuff it has...positraction...ect... |

If it has the original automatic transmission, then it would be a Powerglide. They started making TH350s in 1969.

I have had several 67s, have one now. they have all had th400s.

Could be th400 or Powerglide.

I know that in 1966 283's came with PG and 327's had TH400. I would imagine that was carried through into 1967. John

I went and looked at the truck closely. I am realy confused now. The truck has a 327 in it and on the steering column there is L1, L2 and D on the indicator. If you look at the tranny it has the appearance of long and skinny. That would make me think its a Power Glide but with the 3 gear indication that would make it the TH400 . Well, I couldn't bring myself to crawl under it to look at the tranny pan (BLACKBERRY VINES AND ALL). I was sold as soon as I saw the 327. It has a rochester 4 barrel on it. This truck is so stock it even has the delux radio with push buttons. Its also a custom cab. No dents but it does have the normal rust in the back of the doors.
