I was wondering if any of you are running the front and rear sway bars along with your air bags? How do they work? Either way would be helpfull. I have ordered my Air Ride Kit and am wondering if I need to order up the sway bars. I am currently not running any sway bars. I talked with a guy who has a a 66 Chevelle and said his car did not handle well after he put on his air ride system. He said he then added the sway bars and it made a world of difference. I wanted to find out what you fellow truck drivers were doing with yours. Any help would be great. Thanks.

We bagged my 77 Cheyenne and it rode and handled just fine. I have "heard" the same thing, so I had a front sway bar installed while the new motor was being put in. I haven't driven it yet so I don't have any input yet.

Sway bars make a world of difference. As long as your air bags work evenly you will have no trouble. For example if you have your fronts on different lines and you can lower one side before the other you could bend the bar to the point of breaking.

So no S2S with sway bars? I'm assuming you'd hit the same problem with a rear one?

I have had both with and without sway bar. In my opinion it can't hurt to have the sway bar. The biggest thing is to run your bags independent to each other. If you run them combined then you will get transfer between the two bags when you turn. Alot of it too is the install of the airbag itself. I have a 2000 silverado that was bagged when I bought it and it handled like ****. I basically rebagged it making new mounts and what not. With that all done it is night and day before and after. I would also suggest running the "slam specialties" bags in the front of any fullsize that you bag. These make a huge differance from the 2600 firestones most people use.

Are the Slam Bags also 2600# ? What seems to make them work better ?I've got a front bar and seperate lines to all 4 corners and would change them if it was worthwhile.

I have front and rear sway bars on my lowered '67 SWB with rear bags. It handles great and stays flat in the curves! I love those freeway on and off ramps and twisty roads.
