Someone Please uncomplicate wheel studs for me?

Okay,

So I test fitted my old school Slots just to see what I was up against, only to find that the wheel studs are too short. I thought "oh I'll just get new ones". Yeah right! can someone tell me what I need. 12 bolt 6 lug stock axles, and I know that i need much longer studs prefferebly much stronger too....But are they..
screw in or press in??
1/2, 7/16, 5/8 ??
and can someone please explain the Knurl?? and what do I need?

most studs are press in.......

6-lug studs are 7/16" and you can get longer studs, but be careful since they'll be more inclined to break off! They are press in and all you have to do with the old ones is pound them out with a BFH. You can press the new ones in with a BFH also and the final few centimeters will come through when you tighten your wheels on. The knurl is the portion of the stud that rests against your wheel hub and is there so that it doesn't spin or move when you're tightening the nut.

If the studs reach out of the wheel just a little bit, then you're OK. These wheels use shanked lug nuts, which are a PITA, but, they reach into the wheel's lug hole and grabs the threads.

the big question is??? do you have the proper style lugnuts????? most aluminum slots dont use regular lugnuts and the standard wheel lugs should work IF you have the proper lugnuts

are you trying to use acorn style lugs? like longhorn said, you might need some shank style lug nuts that go in the hole
