Truck Identification (Original Options) - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I know about the sticker on the glovebox door. What I am trying to figure out is what was the original motor in this truck. I have some numbers I will post below.
Model# CS10934
VIN# CS149Z861917
W/Base# 127
The only other thing in the options on the sticker that might give a clue is it had a Heavy Duty Clutch as original equipment. That is the only mechanical thing besides the gauges on the sticker. If anybody has a clue as to what the numbers above mean or where I can go to decode them please let me know.
After doing some footwork I have found that the Model Number shows that the truck should be a 1967 Longbed Fleetside and its a 69 Shortbed Stepside. I am begining to believe the glovebox was changed at some point in time and the sticker wasnt.

C=2WD
S=six cylinder
1=1/2 ton
4=Stepside cab
9=1969
Z=Fremont, Calif.
8XXXXXX =serial sequence as built from 100001.
Trucks didn't have vin numbers correlated to the engine. Serial numbers stamped on the engine block are "dress numbers" that indicate where it was built, when, and any special equipment.

4 doesn't mean stepside, it means cab and bed. Only the model number will tell you that.

Andy, You may be right. My only source is the LMC catalog, that "sacred scripture" of the '67/'72 world [not]. Anyway they say "04 is a Cab & Stepside Pickup Box" and "34 is a Cab & Fleetside Pickup Box"...
If that's not correct, it wouldn't be a first time for them.
But my VIN on the '68 stepside is : CS148Zxxxxxx.

1xxxxx xxxxxxth unit built in the 68 model run at that plant.

LMC has it wrong, as does many places on the web. I think some one linked us to a GM site, or maybe a GM sponsered site.... but it was just as wrong too.
