am I trying to get the right things here?

I'm trying to get these mounts at moment to put a 454 in my 72 - pretty sure they are the right ones - no?

Re: am I trying to get the right things here?

Need better pics. Looks like you have two different mounts. I just did that conversion with my '70 GMC. I tried using 6 cyl, small block, and 73-87 big block mounts because I was trying to save money. I just ended up buying new correct big block mounts from ECE. Good Luck!

Re: am I trying to get the right things here?

I have to double check that - I didn't even notice they DO look different! Yipes! Why did you just get the regular mounts? There is a nice detailed description on here somewhere showing how to make them work - I contemplated doing it that way myself but then saw these.... was it too difficult or messy to do? I don't have these yet so I might have to go the other way eventually.....

those look like small block stands to me. Check this thread by Tx Firefighter, it has pics of 71 and earlier BB stands

Re: am I trying to get the right things here?

You don't have to go with 72 brackets... they are rather expensive too. However, the motor mounts that go on the 72 brackets are a dime a dozen.... with the 68 - 71 brackets, the mounts are expensive.
pick your poison.
