tailgate "side-hinge"...
HOWDY...BRUCE HERE, we have a new project at the shop ...48 chevy pickup,and the guy wants to do sonething "different" with the tailgate I remember someone fabing up a "side hinge" tailgate does anyone have any pictures of this? I'd love to try it..

i seen a seat belt latch used before they put the button in the inside of the bed side and the clip on the tailgate

thanks for all the help...today while "brainstorming" I had an idea...I'm going to try to put a cable set-up from the tailgate of our last project (a nomad),and run the cable through the back pillar of the bed and attach the retractor unit in the bottom of the stake pocket underneath the truck...looks good in thiery.but we will see..thanks for the help...

Try looking at new Honda Ridgeliner car/pickup. I built the fixtures for rear gate. It opens like old Ford station wagons both ways like gate & like a door
