You could go to a junk yard and get the plug in and just solder the wires together.

It is just a normal spade terminal. You can buy them anywhere.

Blazer 1970 is right, but if you really want the factory connector M.A.D. enterprises sells it or if you have a good Chevrolet parts department they can get it for you.

I know what you mean Dande, since the required plug is not that common. I was lucky and found what I needed on some old harness that was laying around my garage. The chevy dealer quoted some rediculous price for a late model tach harness. Try the local auto electric shops. Take your hei cap in with you and they should be able to fix you up.

If you're talking about the connector that snaps/locks to the distributor cap for the tach feed....I went to a junkyard and found an HEI car with the same setup, unplugged it, cut the wire about a foot back from the plug, went home and soldered it to the tach harness and sealed it up with heat shrink tubing.... works great.

got to agree that finding what you need in a junkyard is the way to go but finding a yard that allows you to got in and 'pick' is getting harder every day. Many yards around here are set up like stores with parts already picked and on shelves

Those yards are the ones I refuse to go to. I let them know too. I also won't go to the pay to enter and we don't know if we have one yards.
I shouldn't say I refuse...but I have not done it in over a decade.
