Putter-
The CPP kit is designed for the 67-72, so I am assuming it will work fine. I have seen other companies with the non scissor type for our trucks, but I don't know now any of the work.

Longstep-
The worm drive system is what is used in all modern cars. They used to use the scissor type in everything. Semi trucks used to use a chain system, but they have all switched to the worm drive, it is quieter and more reliable in the long run.
