What he should do is pull all that funky lookin running board stuff off and just let her sit up high. Add some nerf bars if he can't get in, lol

I know, the part under the truck looks absolutely terrible, but this is what I'd do with it. Maybe toss some running boards / handles onto the side of the cab to make it a bit easier to get in

I think I would have put it on the suburban chassis instead of that big truck chassis.
