3 speed trans ?

Stupid question, but I am ttrying to figure out if the 2004r is the same length as my 3 speed manual saginaw. Anyone know the model number of this tranny, or better yet, the length? Its in a 71 c10 w/307

Re: 3 speed trans ?

Coincidentally, I measured my Saginaw 3 speed yesterday. It was right at 29 inches long from front of bellhousing to rear of trans.

Your saginaw 3 spd + bell, is the same lenght as a short 350 turbo, the mount is in the same spot, & the slip yolk has the same dia/spline L

Which means that the 2004r should be the same (since it's a bolt in replacement (you know what I mean) for the short th350).

No, the 400(shortie) is 11/16 " longer, & has a larger slip yolk.....also the mount is positioned in a different spot..... L
