Does anyone know how to raise the bumpers on my 77K20 so there isn't a big gap there? I put a 2in body lift on because I put a 2wd cab on a 4wd frame and needed the body lift so the cab would clear the t-case. Are there brackets I can buy? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

You'll probably have to make some kind of brackets. There are none that I know of to buy.

I used a body lift on my first 72. I dont care for them and will not do it again. With that out of the way, I tried making brackets but the bumper never looked right as the bumper wraps around the frame (believe it does on your 77 also). I finally cut the front frame horns off and welded a plate the width of the frame to the cut end that extended above the top of the frame the amount of the body lift. That in my case was 2" I then welded the frame horns back on at the higher position. At a later time when I removed the body lift and repaired the torn sheet metal at the cab mounts, I ground off the welds and welded the horns back in the stock position.

Yeah, The front of my frame was cut and re welded higher.

i would make brackets for the lift and split the bumper from end to end and add a filler strip to make the bumper taller to fill the gap.

That is a lot of work if you are wanting the stock chrome bumper!!$$$$ Cutting,welding,and blending the frame takes a couple hours to make it look nice.

I'm not too keen on the idea of cutting and welding. Mostly because I don't have the skills, and I am not gonna pay someone to do it. Is there a way to not mess with the bumper, but not have an ugly gap? I was thinkin maybe get some driving lights and put 2 or 4 in the space. Think that would look ok or kinda redneckish? (Not that I have anything against rednecks.)
