55-59 Fleet side short bed, how rare is it?

Hi All,

I just purchased a replacement cab for my 56 and it's part of an entire truck which has a fleet side short bed. The bed seems to be in good shape but I have no use for it. How rare are they?

Thanks,
Sam

Welcome to the fourms Sam,
Where in Jersey are you located? Heck, we might be neighbors.
I don't know how rare they are but I've never seen one.
Do you have pics?
Others may have more info for you.

If it's a fiberglass Cameo bed, then it is extremely rare. If it's a fleetside Apache bed, then it is not as rare.

Hi All,

It's a fleetside, not cameo. I haven't received it yet so I'm not sure of the condition but from the pics it looks very good. I'd keep it but I'm not a big fan of that style.

Denny, I'm way up north near Wayne and Paterson.

Thanks,
Sam

If you were closer to NC I'd take it off your hands, but like everybody on here always says just too far away. Welcome to the board!

So the truck finally arrived from Nevada yesterday and I'm happy to sy it's really solid, no major rust, it's got dents but for $450, I can't complain. Now the only problem is selling off the parts I don't need, ebay here I come lol.

the fleetside was only made for 58/59 years so it does have a rare factor to it. I personally like the look of the fleetside, makes the truck look a lot wider. But you just can't beat a cameo
