water leak in cab

does anyone know how to diagnose where the water is coming from inside my truck? itseems like its leaking down the firewall on the sides and making the seem where the floor meets the kick panels wet, its happening on both sides, my trucks been sitting so theres no splashing or anything like that , my vents are dry any ideas?

i had the exact same leaks.turned out to be windshield.i went as far as taking dash apart where i could get a good look at where it was coming from by tracing it backwards,while running a garden hose over it.glass shop reset windshield,but if it's to bad you may need a new rubber gasket.

I agree with boatpuller. Windshield. Don't let it go too long or you'll get rust. You may be able to temporarily fix this by running a bead of silicone along both edges of the rubber.

If you have holes in the roof (antennas, marker lights) also make sure they're not leaking. Water from the inside of the roof may run down the "A" pillar and end up on the floor.

PS. If the water's on both sides, it's not likely to be antifreeze. A heater core leak would affect only the right side.

Don't forget to check drip rail sealer(assuming 67-72)

I had the same thing on my 85. I found that there is some body caulk under the panel over the wiper arms. It had cracks in it and the water was leaking in it. I went and got some more body seem sealer from car quest and recaulked it. Now I do not have any water leaking in it. I was going to place new carpet in and had to get it fixed before I put it in.
