Went to swap meet in moultrie today

It was packed as usual, thought I was gonna have to put a knife on the front of my truck to cut through all the fog on the way. I saw alot of cool rides but was disappointed there wasn't more 67 to 72 trucks there. The venders had alot of good stuff as always I finally broke down and bought me a cowl induction hood for my 67 now I don't have any excuses for getting it finished up and ready for paint. I wish there was a swap meet or show for chevy trucks only close by so we could all meet up and trade secrets and stuff.

Re: Went to swap meet in moultrie today

I went Saturday and boy it was windy and cold. I met Tim Christian and bought some replacement panels from him. Very nice guy to deal with. I was suprised at some of the prices people were wanting for thier trucks! There were three standouts from what I saw. There was a Green and White 72 4x4 that was cherry, a red and white 71-72 big block that was almost perfect, and one 69 red suburban that looked extermely clean and sounded good. There was a yellow chopped (ok on outside, very rough on the inside) 67-72 sitting in the vendor area. The kid obviously spent some time getting the outside paint looking good but the passenger inner and outer rocker and floor pan was practically rusted away. Why put all that work in it and leave the inside in such bad shape?

I agree sonny it seems crazy to put so much work into something like that and not cut out and replace what needs replacing. I met tim also for the first time. Got my hood from him, no doubt i'll be visiting with him again on some other stuff he's a super nice guy. A good friend of mine sold his 70 stepside there on sat morning it looked pretty good. A real solid truck with just a few cosmetic flaws he was asking 12500.00 don't know if thats what he got or not I left before he sold it.

I think I was standing there when you were talking to Tim about the hood. If I go by the prices on those trucks the value of my truck just doubled!
