Carrier bearing measurement - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm getting ready to order a carrier bearing. I can see the splined shaft comming from bearing. Is this the same circumfrence as the inside of the bearing, or is there a larger shaft that I can't quite see?

What tools will I need to remove the bearing? Regular BFH? Something special?

well basic tools really socket + wrech pull the drive shaft fromt hye looks of it you might was to get some pb blaster pull the yoke off if you cant get the bearing to come off a press comes in handy i found out after i beat the bearing all to hellwhen i did mine and tore off all the bearing but the race i ended up payign a shop 10 buxs to pressure the race off. its not to hard take 30 mins to an hour at most

I'd like to have the new part before I tear apart my ride.
