Some more progress this weekend...

Hi All,

Getting fired up about finishing my truck. Due to life getting in the way, I started this truck seven years ago January, but know I am close and it is in my head all the time now!!!

Wired the rear tailights, wired the front headlights (including relays), wired the engine, and applied fatmat sound deadner to inside of cab...

Some pictures to show what got done this weekend...

Picture of the new blockoff plate I made from stainless steel, to hide the factory hole left behind by the original fuse panel. In hindside, I should have shaved the hole, but I just did not check out the new fuse panel/wiring harness will enough and assumed that it would cover the hole.

Next is the engine/starter/alt wiring with the new coil on the firewall.

Next is a shot of the relay setup for the headlights (thanks to this board for this tip!!) (I am going to redo the terminals to get rid of the bright yellow plastic by cutting the yellow off and recovering with black heat shrink tubing.)

Two pictures of the fatmat sound deadener.

And last, a shot of a cute little firetruck bed hitching a ride in my back of my truck. The firetruck bed was given to me for my little boy!!

Man that truck looks nice. I cant waite till I am that far along. I am putting in patch panels in the driverside floorboard and the kick panel and the rocker panel and the lower post. But pictures like the one you have above help me keep my long term picture alive. Thanks,

Re: Some more progress this weekend...

your truck is beautiful. did you paint and color-sand every square inch of the engine compartment? there's so many little things that make your truck a real eyecatcher.

Re: Some more progress this weekend...

Really nice workmanship John, attention to details makes your truck stand out! What is fat mat? Sound deadener or insulator or both? and where did you get it?
