Re: Cab dipping

I got quoted a grand for my 2 wheel drive blazer. Tub only. Doors, tailgate, fenders, 125 a piece. Frame, 400. But, the pond is small for cab dippers in SC. You might have more luck in WA to get a better price. I decided not to dip mine, number one, because of money. And number two, problems with hidden areas not coated with primer / paint rusting out worse. If I cant get the cab dipped in a big vat of primer after it is acid dipped, there really is no point as I see it. Hope this helps.

Re: Cab dipping

Yep. Another reason I decided not to. Most places use a neutralizer, but the hidden spots are the killer. I dont have 1500 to spend on it anyway, so I decided to media blast it; black media or glass for the frame, and plastic for the body. 170 bucks a day rents the whole sandblasting package, minus the media. Not a bad alternative.

Re: Cab dipping

Tell him to have it soda-blasted.The company is based in Washington state. It won`t distort and it disolves out of the cracks when washed down.

Re: Cab dipping

There was a Booth at the Moultrie Swap Meet that soda blasted. I believe they were out of Jeffersonville, GA. I will look for the business card they gave me on my break.
