Bendix vs Raybestos
I figured, why not another question !
I need rotors for my corvette and got two prices, very close. One is for a Bendix, they salesperson claims them to be the best. The other is for Raybestos, which I am told are also the best. I like to get the better of the two if there is one. Do you think there will be much of a difference? Is one better than the other? Any suggestions? Thanks again. |

We are a stocking dealer for Bendix,Raybestos and Wagner. Raybestos seems a little better quality to me. maybe because they have a very helpful dealer tech line. our 6 lug rotors are TRW and are very good quality also. Go with a name brand and not some cheap whitebox junk and you'll be o.k.

Raybestos
I work at a supplier that sell Raybestos. We move almost 10-12 pallets of that stuff a week!! Just to the local customers(shops)!!!
I would use nothing but Raybestos. Also there Quiet Stop brake pad line are also pretty awesome pads! |

Well, to save myself a lot of typing please read this
http://www.nastyz28.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/000309.html Add more cases to that now. In fact I just got in from replacing the awful raybestos pads and shoes on my camaro. With new rotors and drums because they were grooved badly from the rock hard compound. Few days ago I went to emergency brake at very low speeds 30mph or so and the brakes glazed over completely. I almost rear ended someone. The pads were glazed over rock solid. Shoes were (suprise!) cracked badly horizontally. VERY dangerous. I dont know if they have let a bad batch go or what, but either way really lousy brake parts are on the market. I will not use raybestos again nor will any of our customers. Even their stinking spring kits suck now, the hold downs dont lock into the spring making it a bit harder to install. I could continue to rant on and on, but I think you get my point. I would urge ALL of you to at least try out your brakes a bit harder than normal and make sure they dont glaze but better yet throw away the raybestos pads/shoes on your trucks. I recommend Bendix, I have never had a problem with bendix before and their pads are very quiet. CoryM

As a technician I can honestly say I've warrantied more Raybestos pads than any other brand due to noise complaints, our shop switched to Bendix 2 years ago and we havent had but a hand full of warranties for noise. As for rotors I think either company would provide a very good product I just tend to think Raybestos pads have a little too much metal content causing semi-metallic brake squeal. Most of the rotors in todays market regardless of namebrand are stamped out of china
and rust pit badly within a year or two of every day driving ,not to mention require machining right out of the box because they are warped!
