S-10 Problems
My teacher has a '85 S-10 4x4 and has been having engine trouble. When driving and taking a left hand corner the engine will kill, but if at a stop sign and turning left it will stay running. ONly left hand turns while driving down the road will make it kill, other wise it runs fine. It's a 2.8 v-6 with auto and is fuel injected. Any ideas?

At the rear of the intake manifold you will find a factory engine lifting bracket. There is a main engine harness that runs right around this bracket and after a few miles or so this bracket rubs through the harness. The white wire for the ignition coil is the closest to this bracket and is the first one to short.
Not saying thats what you have... but its pretty common for this engines. Also do a wiggle test. While running, move all wires and harness's around. More than likely you have a wire shorting to ground or causing an open when the vehicle is turned sharply. Good luck with it. |

Cool, never thought of that. I'll try and get to it on Monday. Thanks Bummer, it didn't work. I found out that it is carbureted not injected like he said. Everything looks good under the hood but maybe something in the carb or fuel problems?
