Brake lines
I was wondering if anyone here has bought pre bent brakelines...
where from? how much? and would you recommend them? Also, do any of you know where i can get steel braided lines? a buddy of mine told me to get aluminum drums, does anyone use these or know where i can get them. Pre-bent stainless lines are really nice. I bought a set from The Right Stuff out of Ohio. My only complaint is that the fittings are plated steel and will corrode, and to me that defeats the purpose. The lines still look new after 4 years of being exposed to the harsh elements in my garage (truck undergoing frame-off) As for pre-bent plain steel lines, I think you'd be wasting your money as NAPA sells line in various lengths flared with fittings. All you need is a good tubing bender.

Go straight to Inline Tube. I got SS prebent clips and braided SS. They all fit and look great.

Inline tube is fine if you want stock stuff, but if you need something different, don't bother. They were even rude to talk to about it. Call Classic tube for custom needs or modified stock needs.

I've used both Inline Tube and Classic Tube. Inline made perfectly fine SS hard lines and a sterling complete, custom SS emergency brake cable assy ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
) while Classic made good braided SS hoses, but I, too, found Inline Tube's phone customer service lacking in the courtesy dept. Classic Tube's guys were great to talk with and I pride myself on not rattling on about topics not germain to the purchase. Ask for Tom McGavin at Classic. I haven't tried the Right Stuff folks. Have their catalog. Maybe next time.One disappointing aspect is the cost of prebent SS hard lines thru both companies. SS ain't that much more expensive than plain steel. I guess its not that bad for a 30 year old truck. Besides, a set of longer than stock SS braided hoses are only ~$30 more than a set of oem length rubber hoses. I just wish I could go custom and SS more often on any project I'm working on. Wah wah wah...
