I need to know a step by step on bending tubing. IE: fuel line, brake line, solid vac line...etc... I am going to be redoing just about all of the tubing on a couple of projects. I have a tubing bender that will handle several sizes, but I just don't know how to use it to get the bends where I want them. I searched the FAQ and couldn't find anything.

I think it just comes down to "experience"

Each type of bender has its own way of doing things, each brand may have a slightly different way to set things up to get the number of degrees you want in a bend. most will want you to make sure that you start at one end of the tube and work in one direction to the other end of the tube with the bender oriented the same for each bend. (sorry if thats confusing) anyway, check with the manufacturer of the tool for a web site or a video on how to get the results you want with their bender. hope that helps a little.

Why don't you try a google search on "tube bending"? There are sights out there for sheet metal work and all other sorts of information. Should be somewhere that will tell how to measure so that your bends are in the correct area etc.

I have one of those spring type benders. Just looks like a long spring that is just big enough for the tube to go into. Put the spring over the tube and bend the crap out of it. As long as the spring is over the bends it will not kink.

Its low tech, but then again so am I.
