OK, I just spent six years and almost thirty grand restoring and customizing my first 4x4. It's a 72 K/5 with 6 inches of Skyjacker lift, 33x14.5 Micky Baja's on twelve inch rims. Looks sweet, but I'm just not diggin the handleing or ride quality. Here's my question, can I use the 4x4 frame in a 2x4 conversion? Or do I have to use a 2x4 frame?

Yeah, okay, I guess it could be done. But my question... Why? I mean if you spent all that money restoring a customizing a blazer, why would you just want to go hack it to pieces, if you don't want the rough handling, get a short bed truck and throw some 18s on it, lower it, you'll have a nice ride. But you built a 4x4 that's what you have. Don't expect it to take turns like a viper or accelerate like a Maclaren F1. But Just my opinion. I didn't mean to *****. Also Welcome to THE board, From Good Ol KY.

First of YES you can! I'm in the process of it now. As to why...1) it's yours 2) 2wd's are nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price 3) 2wd's, even converted ones, are worth more. 4) Chances are your not going 4 wheelin' anyway. There are other reasons but #1 is enough.

I second or third, that it can be done. Only drawback would be having a leaf sprung rear instead of the factory coil sprung rears. I you do this put me on the list for that skyjacker 6" lift. My Blazer is in need of 2" more lift. lol

fourth that. i say 2wd that blazer and sell the stuff you pull off to pay for the project.

you'll need a 2wd front crossmember, try to make the rear into a coil rear it will be better then leaf IMO.

Not sure but I don't think trailing arms are a bolt on for 4x4 frames. Just go 4 link.
