Are 72 Custom ( Series ) seat covers available?

Has anyone found a source that sells new vinyl seat covers that are replacements for the stock 72 Custom series ( Not Cheyenne )bench seats?
I can see that the all vinyl cheyenne style is out there for the buying, but I am trying to locate one for a friends truck that is being restored to original. Any suggestions or places to find this seat cover.
Thanks, OT

No, but you can call a place in Oregon called SMS. They carrie some NOS material for certain applications. I'm sure someone on the board knows the #.

Re: Are 72 Custom ( Series ) seat covers available?

They had some original cloth insert material for the 71-72 Custom Deluxe when I checked with SMS last fall. A little pricey unless the truck is really restored correctly. I was quoted $85 a yard and you would have to order two yards to do one seat insert plus the vinyl. I figured a $300 seat cover plus.

Yeah, that`s what they wanted for the Highlander plaid.But,remember,$300+ is what the Cheyenne/Super covers cost when they first came out.

Re: Are 72 Custom ( Series ) seat covers available?

Thanks for the responses, and yes I am familiar to SMS in fact I think I introduced the site to them. The naugahide vinyl is available from them and even in the correct color as I to have assembled a bunch of seats that utilize the Custom Deluxe style fabrics including Highlanders, but there is no way for me to produce the pattern that is debossed into the vinyl to replicate the original seat pattern on the cheapie Custom series trucks.
Thanks anyway!

Re: Are 72 Custom ( Series ) seat covers available?

I know what you mean. I was looking into the absolute correct 67 buddy bucket seat covers and those stiched seams were dieoelecttically pressed in the vinyl. I think is the term instead of sewn. A purist notices those details and I guess if your spending 25k in a correct truck it doesn't matter.
Good luck.

Re: Are 72 Custom ( Series ) seat covers available?

Is this the seat you are trying to get.....

There is a place called Original Auto Interiors that carries the material with the correct pattern.....the sheets are not long enough to do the bottom so you have to live with a seam at about knee level but it is 95% correct.....their website is http://www.originalauto.com it is pricey I will warn you now...but if you want it correct I dont know of any other choice....Good luck
