Is there a way to tell what AN fitting size I have?
I have a fuel cell that I will be installing. How do I tell what size AN fittings I need for it?

Re: Is there a way to tell what AN fitting size I have?
Most fuel cells have dual -8AN fittings coming out of the bottom sump, that I have dealt with. Are you going to us an electric pump or a mechanical? It also depends on your horsepower. I replaced mine with a -12AN on my '72 Nova.

Due to the distance to the cell, I will be running an electric pump. HP will be in the 300-350 range. Nothing radical.

AN-6 would be the absolute minimum, AN-8 (appx 1/2") would be a good choice...are you running carb or FI? If your running FI, would recommend AN-6 as the supply line and AN-8 as the return.

Re: Is there a way to tell what AN fitting size I have?
Reading my original, I need to clarify. How do I tell what size AN fitting is on the cell? It has 2 male fittings on it. I need to order my lines and fittings but I need to know what size to get to hook up to the cell.

They should be -8AN on your fuel cell. Are you going to drive it a lot on the street? Are you going with stainless braided line all the way?

Re: Is there a way to tell what AN fitting size I have?
Will be mostly street with track time as well. I'm still trying to decide if I want to go braided or not. Needed to know what size fittings I am looking for so I can budget everything in.
