Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
Just got my copy of custom classic trucks mag and they did an IFS swap on an early 60's? C10. The kit is designed for the 60-72 chevy trucks by fatman fabrication. It's a mustang II rack and pinion disk brake set up. The swap looked pretty cool, probably 95% bolt in job. It's more money than I would ever spend on my front end, but has anyone else done this swap?
They wrote the article as if hundreds of people were doing this, but I've never noticed a single 67-72 without the stock crossmember in it at a car show It's advantages would be that you could really slam your truck to the ground and the thinner crossmember would allow an easy install for headers.

Re: Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
The part I wish they would offer is a Rack and Pinion steering to go with the stock front suspension.

Re: Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
Read the article last night and had the same thoughts you guys had. Nice and pretty good set up, but probably not worth the $1700-$2000 they want for it.
I never knew that there was a problem with header clearance on these trucks. I've got mine 4.5/6 and don't seen to have a problem.

Re: Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
Really, yhe headers I`ve had don`t hang lower than the frame.I guess anything under your truck can hit something at one time or another, including the oil pan.

Re: Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
Here's my FatMan front end. Wasn't too hard to install and I love the look of it.

It's pretty sweet looking, how much was it for your application?

Oh, it looks great. Not disputing the looks that looks awesome. Just the price verses what I have now and whether it's worth it.

Re: Fatman Fabrications Mustang II IFS
It was way more than I was planing to spend on my front end but I liked it so I decided I'd get it. The total cost for the front cross member with coilovers, tubular upper and lower arms, sway bar, power rack and pinion, engine towers, steering linkage, and power steering hose kit was about $3000.
