painted the 68 today
I painted my 68 today. I put the top coat on it anyway. Funny thing is I had just wrecked it Friday. Ran into a parked car . Doh. Gave me an excuse to buy a cowl hood anyway. Straight original 68 hoods arent easy to find. Had to replace the hood , fender, grill and gravel pan . Got the new parts friday night from Wes at Classic Heartbeat, had them all on the truck saturday , straightened out the minor dings on the new sheetmetal and sprayed another gallon of black lacquer on the truck today . It looks great. I still have one more panel to spray tommorow and then I'll wait a few days to sand and buff her out. Once I get all the new chrome on it I'll take a few pics ( and get some batteries for the digital camera) and post them up here..
