alternator question 2

the 10si and 12si cases what is the difference and how do I know which I have? Also I want 100 amp but may get a 140 amp for about 20.00 dollars more will the extra amps have any bad affect on me? What guage wire should run from bat to alt? In one wire hook up for 100 and 140 amp?

Sorry all the questions than\ks.

Re: alternator question 2

I believe the 10 and 12 are physically the same as far as fitment. The 12 has more efficient cooling fan. 10 ga. wire should be sufficient. The 12si isn't a one wire alt. but it is internally regulated. Check this link. http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...elcoremy.shtml
