Need help on a Part?
Can anyone tell me the interchange on a a/c compressor, there are some on ebay that say from1970 to 1978, is this correct? and if so does anyone have any pictures, Thanks

If your putting an a/c system in a 67-72 chevy truck I'd strongly suggest vintage air. I just put one in my 72 and it's well worth the money! You remove your whole OEM system and the vintage air system mounts inside the cab up under the dash. You won't have any of that bulky OEM system cluttering your engine compartment. The kit comes with a new condenser,evaporator,drier receiver,hoses,compressor,fan assembly,and all the mounting hardware. The complete kit was $1,095.00. It seems like alot, at least I thought it was but once you see the system mounted in your truck you'll be glad you bought it. Buy direct from vintage air not some shortline company. On the compressors there was really only two types. from the late 60's thru the mid 80's they were a much longer skinny compressor. Somewhere in the 80's like on my 85 monte carlo ss GM went to a much shorter squatty looking compressor. So yes the listing will work. I got a remanufactured compressor from a local parts store for under $ 100

I pulled one off my wife`s grandmother`s 78 Caprice when we donated it.Like pound41 said,they`re all the same if they look the same,later/smaller or early/longer.It`s alot cheaper to buy a compressor than a vintage air system.
