Installed New Bed Wood
I bought a set of driver-quality oak from bad69bowtie a few weeks ago ( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=184886 ) and finally got it installed. My bed needs a little paint, but at least it is functional now.

Re: Installed New Bed Wood
What did you put on your wood (not morning wood by the way) to protect it?

Re: Installed New Bed Wood
Why is that considered 'driver quality" I cant see a damn thing wrong with it.
Looks great to me. I wish my bed was half as nice as that.

Re: Installed New Bed Wood
Also, did the bed come with all holes drilled? Is there a way to install the bed wood without the eight or so large bolts?

I suppose it would be possible to put the eight bed mounting bolts in first before the wood goes in if you put some clearance counterbores on the underside of the boards. You might compromise a little in strength if you do that, but for a show truck it probably wouldn't matter. Mar-K sells aluminum strips where the bolts attach to the bottom so you can't see any bolt heads in the strips. |
