Question Dash Bezel help......

I have a few questions about Dash Bezels on certain model trucks, and years... I have a 74 Chevy Super Deluxe, it has wood trim on the doors and vent piece above the glove box, but the dash besel is not, should it be? I'm pretty sure the one in it is not stock, but maybe I'm wrong.

Another question I'm in need of a new bezel but it seems they all have a big head light hole? What years came with the small hole? I can't find one anywhere, does anyone have one? I have A/C and the wiper switch hole is one the bezel.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Re: Dash Bezel help......

The hole for the headlight switch should be big so you can get the knob through the benzel. my 79 Suburban/86 C10/ 89 Suburban are all like that.

Re: Dash Bezel help......

I think only 73-74 had the small headlight hole, they went with the big ones after that.

ON my 73, the bezel has a small hole and the knob has a release on the back side of the switch...allowing it to slide out of the switch assembly...your should be the same otherwise I am not sure how the HL switch assembly could be removed from the dash itself.

Re: Dash Bezel help......

Like bigblock74 said. It should be a small hole and there is a release button on the switch itself that you press to release the knob and shaft. I have a '73 Cheyenne Super and it has woodgrain on the door panels and woodgrain on the dash bezel. Also woodgrain on the dash above the glovebox. I have not been able to find the bezels new with the woodgrain but there is a place in Fort Worth Tx that will redo your old bezel. They want you to send them your old one and they will send you a new refurbished one. They put all new chrome on the places that have it. Below is their website.
